Town House Hotel Devizes

The Peppermill Town House Hotel, restaurant and wine bar was established in 2012 by Philip & Amanda O’Shea. After a career as an estate agent and property developer they thought it would be nice for Devizes to have a quality restaurant in the town. After a couple of years they decided that they could create 7 well appointed rooms above the restaurant to offer bed and breakfast as well. In 2019 they were able to purchase the derelict building next door and during the pandemic lockdown spent a full 12 months refurbishing throughout.

In 2015 we were awarded 2 rosettes for the restaurant and 5 gold stars for the accommodation from the AA which we have maintained now for 9 years.
Today we have extremely well-appointed bedrooms to include a bridal suite with a 4 poster bed and a 2 bedroom family suite. All rooms have air conditioning (except the single room). They also have a mini fridge, safes, tea/coffee making facilities, dressing gowns, top of the range Hypnos mattresses with crisp white linen. All the bathrooms have mains pressured showers and some have freestanding baths once again well appointed.

We have won awards for our extensive bar list which includes 30 different wines from around the world all sold by the glass as well as an extensive cocktail and gin list.
We also offer afternoon tea Friday & Saturday from 12pm – 3pm and bottomless brunch on Saturday from 11am – 3pm.
The property is situated in the market place of the historic town of Devizes which is the most central town in Wiltshire some 20 miles from bath, Swindon and Salisbury. It also has the Kennet and Avon canal running through the middle of it
